Why show a picture of washing drying? well this will always stick in my memory for my visit to Lochcarron, the village is built along a narrow strip of land with a hill / mountain behind and the gardens of the cottages are very small, so being practical folk they use the stony beach to have drying poles. Of course Lochcarron is one of the prettiest places in Scotland and you will love it.

The village has a number of shops and two petrol stations. The shops are well stocked and there is also a post office point in one of the stores. Lochcarron is a very popular for holidays and you can rent a self catering cottage, stay in bed and breakfast or in Lochcarron hotel.

The Lochcarron Hotel is positioned overlooking Loch Carron and the beautiful views of the surrounding hills and mountains. You can chill out by sitting outside and having a drink or lunch.

The old church at Lochcarron is situated in one of the most scenic of places for any church I have seen in Scotland. The surrounding cemetery provides information on people long ago and may help you discover information on your genealogy if you come from this area.

Lochcarron Golf Course

The Lochcarron Golf Course and Clubhouse is one of my favourite golf courses, and once you have played golf in the Highlands you will want to come back time and again as the scenery is outstanding.
