When we last visited the Rua Reidh lighthouse it was in November and we experienced snow, rain and glorious sunshine, as well as a howling gale, all within a 15 minute period. During the spring, summer and autumn months you will experience changes in weather, not as extreme as the winter months, however you should always come prepared for all types of weather.
Jetty near the Rua Reidh Lighthouse in Wester RossThe path down to the Jetty at the lighthouse is very steep as I hope you can see from the picture above. The sheep are grazing on grassy hills and on rocks with a 45 degree or steeper angle, they are obviously pretty agile.
Sheep at the lighthouseAs you may imagine this is the type of location you should keep your pets, dogs, on a lead. Even if your dog is well behaved there is always the temptation to chase a sheep and in this situation it is highly likely that your dog and the sheep will go over the cliff edge. So be careful and keep your dog on a lead with you. If you would like your accommodation or travel business listed on our travel websites please e-mail us with your contact details. |
